The Marangu Route, also known as the “Coca-Cola Route,” is one of the most popular routes on Mount Kilimanjaro. It is the only route that offers hut accommodation, providing more comfort than camping. Starting from the southeastern side of the mountain, this route takes you through diverse landscapes, from lush rainforests to alpine deserts. It is known for its scenic beauty and the gradual ascent profile, making it a great option for trekkers who prefer a more moderate challenge. The Marangu route is typically done in 5 days, but the 6-day variation is significantly better.
