The Machame Route, also known as the “Whiskey Route,” is one of the most popular and scenic routes on Mount Kilimanjaro. Starting from the southern base of the mountain and heading east, this route offers diverse landscapes, from dense rainforests to high alpine deserts. It is considered one of the more challenging routes, but it is also known for its stunning views and high summit success rate due to its gradual ascent profile. The 7-day Machame route is highly recommended and used by most prominent Kilimanjaro climbers but can also done in 6 days.
